Growing deadly families

Meeting dates: 3-4 August 2017

Investing in the health of our little ones and their mum is proven to be one of the best ways to address disadvantage throughout life.

While most Queenslanders enjoy a healthy start to life, there is still a gap to close on birthing and early childhood outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

On 3-4 August 2017 the Queensland Clinical Senate partnered with the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health, the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council, Health Consumers Queensland and the Queensland Department of Health to deliver the Growing Deadly Families forums. The meetings provided a forum for discussion and knowledge sharing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and well- being of children and families.
