Patients, carers and families
We partner with Queensland’s Hospital and Health Services to develop initiatives and strategies which provide the best possible healthcare for patients, carers and families. This includes seeking feedback from consumers to help improve existing services, identify areas requiring attention, and to inform future planning.
We also partner with consumer groups and non-government organisations to ensure that the voice of consumers is at the centre of what we do. Most recently we’ve partnered with the state’s peak consumer group, Health Consumers Queensland, on the response to the Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry. The project to implement the six recommendations featured an unprecedented level of consumer and carer participation, which played an integral role in the development and design of new services.
Consumers have also been engaged through the Integrated Care Innovation Fund, Queensland Clinical Senate and presented at the Clinical Excellence Showcases to remind us why we do the work that we do – creating solutions for better healthcare.
