The aim of the Advancing Kidney Care 2026 (AKC2026) Information Solution (AKCIS) is to develop a digitally integrated kidney care data source that is secure, standardised, and used for improvement.
The quality measures to be delivered are based on those described by clinicians and consumers, to enable measurement against the quality statements in the Framework for delivering quality care to people with kidney disease.
Objectives
AKCIS is a centralised information base that integrates data related to kidney care from multiple sources and presents it in a way that is relevant to various users.
AKCIS went live in June 2020 and will continue to be expanded over time. To date, AKCIS includes reports on kidney transplants, acute kidney injuries and patients on dialysis.
