- leadership in the provision of strategic direction for oral health service delivery;
- high level monitoring of oral health service delivery outputs and oral health outcomes for Queenslanders; and,
- capacity building and sustainability of oral health services.
More information on Queensland public oral health services can be found on the Queensland Health website.
- Performance and outcomes
The Performance and Outcomes team monitors the performance of HHS oral health services using a range of indicators related to service activity and public dental waiting lists. The team also reports on clinical and oral health outcomes through the analysis of routinely collected data, and makes data available to HHS oral health directors to support service management and planning. Key initiatives of this program area include reports on oral health clinical indicators and access to public oral health services in Queensland.
- Clinical information and analysis
The Clinical Information & Analysis team manages the statewide electronic oral health clinical record system - Information System for Oral Health (ISOH) – and supports frontline users of the system in Hospital and Health Services. This team liaises with eHealth Queensland to ensure effective administration of ISOH.
- Oral health services
The Oral Health Services team provides support to the Department and HHS oral health services in relation to patient safety, clinical governance, scope of clinical practice and models of care. This team also advocates for oral health matters across the health system at a state and national level, for example in relation to health promotion and dental public health, quality and safety, legislation and dental practitioner registration.
