Design thinking and human factors science

To help support innovation in healthcare, CEQ’s Healthcare Improvement Unit partnered with Bridge Labs Program to develop two courses for healthcare professionals:

  1. Design Thinking for Healthcare
  2. Introduction to Human Factors Science for Healthcare Professionals

Each course takes 3–4 hours each to complete.

Design Thinking for Healthcare

The Design Thinking for Healthcare course explores how design thinking can bring value to healthcare and develop the skills to start experimenting with a design-led approach. You will walk through the origins of design thinking and the techniques used in each phase of design.

Introduction to Human Factors Science for Healthcare Professionals

Introduction to Human Factors Science for Healthcare Professionals is intended to develop familiarity with systems thinking and ergonomics, and its applications to healthcare. The course includes overviews of systems analysis, analysis of adverse events, sociotechnical systems design, and state-of-the-art systems-based risk assessment methods.
