Jocelyn will talk to her experiences as a volunteer midwife in Tanzania earlier this year and reflect how this experience compares with local midwifery care in rural and metropolitan settings in Queensland.

Jocelyn commenced her career as a cadet nurse at 16 and has worked in the health sector for most of her working life. The last 25 years has been focused specifically to midwifery and promoting workforce redesign and improving and promoting woman centred care within clinical environments. She has been the Director of Midwifery in the Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer for the past 3 years where she can inform policy in the areas of her passion. Her vision is for every woman to have access to a known midwife.
