The importance of nurses and midwives in addressing health inequalities cannot be underestimated. In all contexts and at all levels they are the lifeblood of health and healthcare worldwide, and 2020 is our opportunity to celebrate the work they do and the impact they have on people and their communities. In this presentation, David will share his experience working at the local, national and international level to strengthen the voice of nurses and midwives. He will speak about the work of the International Council of Nurses’ and their policy leadership which sees them front and centre at the World Health Assembly but also behind the scenes when expert advice is required for programs, commissions and reports.
