2020 Year of the nurse and midwife

Where can midwifery take you?

Midwives play a fundamental role in a woman’s pregnancy journey and beyond. As a qualified healthcare professional, a midwife provides care, education, advice and support for women pre-conception, during pregnancy, through labour and birth, and for up to six weeks or more postnatally (after the baby is born). Midwives also provide advice to women on issues such as birth preparation, medication management, breastfeeding, reproductive and sexual health, advice on healthy relationships, emotional health and provide child and family health care.

We’re committed to helping midwives be the best they can be; empowering you professionally, creating workforce sustainability, and supporting innovative ideas to deliver better solutions for women and their families.
