During the pandemic, Health Consumers Queensland's kitchen table discussions, Consumer Conversations, and bespoke consultations have enabled a diverse range of consumers across the state to directly influence on policy, planning, service delivery and improvement in health.
Queensland Health's openness to consumer involvement and transparent communication was credited by consumers for contributing to its overall success in responding to COVID-19 when compared with other states and federally. Ensuring that consumer voices continued to be heard; ensured system gaps were identified early and addressed; gave some surety to staff/system that they were making the right decisions.
