Information stream

The aim of the AKC2026 Information Stream is to develop a digitally integrated kidney care data source that is secure, standardised, and used for improvement.

Objectives

The Advancing Kidney Care Information Solution (AKCIS) is a centralised information base that integrates data related to kidney care from multiple sources and presents it in a way that is relevant to various users.

AKCIS went live in June 2020 and will continue to be built up over time. Set 1 of AKCIS includes reports on kidney transplants, acute kidney injuries and patients on dialysis. Work is underway in 2020-2021 to determine priority requirements for Set 2 and build additional reports and datasets.

The AKC2026 Kidney Improvement Data Set (KIDS) will be a centralised information base that integrates data related to kidney care from multiple sources and presents it in a way that is relevant to various users.

The data set will be built up over time, starting with basic information in early 2020.
