Queensland Maternal and Perinatal Quality Council

The Queensland Maternal and Perinatal Quality Council (QMPQC) is a gazetted quality assurance committee reporting to the Queensland Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services. Guided by its Terms of Reference, the purpose of the QMPQC is to:

  • Collect and analyse clinical information regarding maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity in Queensland to identify any trends
  • Make recommendations to the Minister on standards and quality indicators of maternal and perinatal clinical care to enable healthcare providers in Queensland to improve the safety and quality of their services
  • Assist both public and private sectors with the adoption of such standards.
