Clinical Excellence Queensland is pleased to officially welcome Ms Liza-Jane McBride to the role of Chief Allied Health Officer for the Department of Health. She has been acting in the role since September 2018.

The Chief Allied Health Officer is critical to providing leadership for the statewide strategic direction of allied health services within Queensland, as well as providing professional leadership for our allied health workforce.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work with clinicians, managers and executives to optimise the role of allied health professionals in meeting the healthcare needs of Queenslanders,” Liza-Jane said.

Dr John Wakefield, Deputy Director-General, Clinical Excellence Queensland said, “Liza-Jane has significant experience in successfully delivering strategic policy results within the Queensland healthcare system, particularly in relation to allied health workforce reform, redesign and education issues.

“She has led the development, implementation and evaluation of a range of strategies to ensure there is an appropriately skilled allied health workforce to meet the current and future health service needs of Queensland.

“I look forward to working with Liza-Jane to maximise the benefit of allied health professionals to the Queensland community we serve,” Dr Wakefield said.
