The Surgical Advisory Committees (SAC) annual forum, Past Pathways to Future Directions, is on Friday 12 July 2019 at the Sheraton Grand Mirage, Gold Coast.
This 1-day forum provides clinicians with an update on the surgical environment in Queensland, including departmental priorities, the introduction of NSQIP to Queensland and Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT). We're also proud to advise Emeritus Professor Russell Strong has agreed to provide the keynote speech. Professor Strong will explore past pathways to future directions taking a walk-through Queensland’s surgical history to guide us into the future.
The day will be complete with an examination on future leadership, with Professor David Fletcher (RACS Chair—Professional Development and Surgical Directors Committee) seeking to define the future role of surgical directors before joining a panel discussion on finding and empowering surgeons to take the reins of surgical leadership.
