As part of their commitment to supporting nursing and midwifery graduates as they enter the workforce, our Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (OCNMO) hosted a special workshop in Brisbane on November 30 to improve the transition to our workforce.

More than 80 influential nursing and midwifery academic and industry experts, students and new graduates from across the state came together for the workshop, which was delivered in partnership with the Queensland Nursing and Midwifery Academic Leaders group. The day was designed to identify ways of overcoming barriers and maximising opportunities to enhance the educational experiences of new graduates, and ensuring they have a safe and successful transition into the workforce.

The workshop included internationally acclaimed experts presenting on the latest research and educational trends, as well as panel sessions to enable students, educators and nursing and midwifery leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue and gain better understanding of each other's perspectives and experiences.
